Duration, budget and team

Based on completed projects, the average project duration in the area of weather is 2-3 months. After the initial exploration sprint and the basic graphic design (together approx. 30 hours), 3-4 sprints follow to develop the app and the backend (approx. 150 hours per sprint).

Weathermelon

Must-have app for agricultural businesses

Make it easy for yourself to follow the weather

Weathermelon consolidates weather information for all important growing areas of all goods in one user-friendly application. Based on 10-day forecasts, Weathermelon sends daily warning messages to inform you about possible weather problems in the growing areas specific to your raw materials.

It also contains information about the harvest data for the individual growing areas as well as more detailed weather information such as radar maps, among others for: artichokes, asparagus, avocados, corn, green beans, lemons, lettuce, limes, oranges, peaches, pineapples, strawberries and tomatoes.

Lunatecc

Ascent of a free balloon to a height of 40 km

Lunatecc is a private research project that deals with locomotion in space. In a first step, the team let an unmanned weather balloon rise to a height of 40 km. The balloon carries 1 kg of hardware in a polystyrene box as a payload: GoPro camera, Raspberry Pi 2 minicomputer incl. SenseHAT with sensors for measuring temperature, air pressure, humidity and acceleration, GPS and a RockBlock. This is a modem that communicates with the global Iridium satellite network. The transmission also works far away from all cellular networks and at great heights. All collected data is transmitted live to the Lunatecc app and website.
